Best Medical Int’l, Inc. has sued Varian Medical Systems, Inc. and Varian Medical Systems Int’l AG (collectively “Varian”) for infringement of U.S. Patent Nos. 6,038,283 (“Planning method and apparatus for radiation dosimetry”); 6,393,096 (“Planning method and apparatus for radiation dosimetry”); 7,015,490 (“Method and appartus for optimization of collimator angles in intensity modulated radiation therapy treatment”); and 7,266,175 (“Planning method for radiation therapy”) in the District of Delaware.  Best Medical accuses Varian’s Clinac® linear accelerator, Clinac® iX linear accelerator System, VitalBeam® Radiotherapy System, Trilogy® System, TrueBeam® Radiotherapy System, and Halcyon™ Radiotherapy System, in conjunction with at least Varian’s Eclipse™ Treatment Planning System and/or RapidPlan™ Knowledge-Based Planning System and/or Varian’s RapidArc® Planning System of infringement.
