Ethicon LLC, Ethicon US, LLC, and Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Inc. (collectively “Ethicon”) have sued Intuitive Surgical Holdings, LLC, Intuitive Surgical, Inc., and Intuitive Surgical Operations, Inc. (collectively “Intuitive Surgical”) in the district of Delaware for infringement of U.S. Patent Nos. 8,479,969 (“Drive interface for operably coupling manipulatable surgical tool to a robot”); 8,991,677 (“Detachable motor powered surgical instrument”); 8,998,058 (“Detachable motor powered surgical instrument”); 9,084,601 (“Detachable motor powered surgical instrument”); 9,113,874 (“Surgical instrument system”); and 9,585,658 (“Stapling systems”). ¬†Ethicon accuses the “Da Vinci Surgical Systems,” including but not limited to the “da Vinci Xi” and “da Vinci Si” systems, and the EndoWrist Instruments of infringing the above patents.
