April 16, 2013 – The parties issued a press release announcing that “MAKO has agreed to settle all patent infringement actions and acquire certain assets of Stanmore related to its Sculptor Robotic Guidance Arm (RGA) business…. Under the confidential settlement and asset purchase agreements between the parties, in exchange for a cash payment to Stanmore, MAKO will withdraw all legal actions and receive Stanmore’s robotic business assets and intellectual property, as well as Stanmore’s agreement to withdraw from robotics.”

March 19, 2013 – Plaintiff alleges that Defendants’ Sculptor Robotic Guidance Arm infringes Patent No. 7,831,292 to Quaid, directed to a Guidance System and Method for Surgical Procedures with Improved Feedback, and Patent No. 8,010,180 to Quaid, directed to a Haptic Guidance System and Method.
