February 13, 2014 – Based on the Board’s claim construction, the Board found that Medtronic did not establish a reasonable likelihood that it would prevail with respect to at least one of the challenged claims of the challenged patent.  Therefore, the Board denied institution of an inter partes review.

August 14, 2013 – Medtronic alleges that certain claims in Nuvasive’s Curran Patent, U.S. Patent No. 8,361,156, are unpatenable.  The patent at issue is entitled “Systems and Methods for Spinal Fusion.”
