The morning will begin with a session on “IP News You Need To Know,” featuring a discussion of significant recent court decisions and the latest trends from the U.S. Patent Office involving inter partes review (IPR) proceedings and other proceedings.

The Access Closure Patent Litigation Story: Success was the ONLY option

A panel presentation will follow discussing the patent litigation story of Santa Clara-based Access Closure and its recent victory against St. Jude Medical. Principals from Access Closure will share the perspective of management of a young but growing company, and how it navigated through potentially devastating patent infringement litigation to a successful exit.

Attendees will then be given the option of attending one of two breakout sessions. The first breakout session will focus on recent medical device litigation and lessons to be learned. The second breakout session will be directed to attendees in the information technology (IT) and biotechnology sectors, with discussion to include the recent Alice v. CLS Bank Supreme Court decision.
