Agnes Juang, Ph.D.

Dr. Agnes Juang provides counsel and advice to innovators seeking to protect their inventions and to grow and monetize their IP assets. Her practice includes strategic global patent procurement, portfolio development and management, patentability and infringement analysis, competitive landscape analysis, trade secret protection, IP due diligence, and licensing/agreement.

In her second decade of practice, Agnes understands not only the science behind sophisticated, cutting-edge invention, but also the means to implement an effective IP strategy to advance client’s business objectives. By focusing on aligning IP strategy with her client’s overall business plan, Agnes takes pride in helping start-ups and emerging companies build a sensible IP portfolio for investment and acquisition. For more established companies, Agnes helps them grow and leverage their IP assets to establish and expand their market share and realize material return on their investment.

Agnes represents individual inventors and businesses ranging from start-ups and emerging companies to publicly traded corporations in a variety of industries, including pharmaceutical, chemical, biotech, and medical device. In the chemical field, she has worked with polymer, energy storage, and nanotechnology. Her graduate research at Caltech involved investigating photoelectrochemical properties of semiconductor/liquid and semiconductor/solid interfaces. Appreciated by clients and colleagues alike for her deep bench of technical skills, Agnes can quickly learn and understand clients’ technologies and business. The breadth of her technical knowledge makes her well-suited for working with technologies involving multi-disciplinary fields.

Agnes joined the firm in 2005 and became a partner in 2011.
