David Schmidt, Ph.D.

David R. Schmidt practices intellectual property law, with a focus on patent litigation and prosecution in the fields of medical devices and pharmaceuticals.

As an undergraduate engineer, Dr. Schmidt worked in research and development for Kimberly-Clark Corporation in the areas of health care and personal care products. Before attending law school, he worked as a graduate research assistant in the areas of biomedical engineering and drug delivery. During law school, Dr. Schmidt worked in the Notre Dame Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship Clinic.

Dr. Schmidt worked as a summer associate at the firm in 2011 and joined the firm in 2012.
