Kathryn M. McCarthy

Kathryn M. McCarthy is an associate in the firm’s Washington, DC office. She primarily focuses on patent prosecution in the medical device and mechanical areas.

Kathryn received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. Prior to joining the firm, Kathryn worked as an engineering co-op in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries. She also has experience working as an intern in a research hospital, where she contributed to machine learning projects to advance image analysis software.

Kathryn earned her law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where she served as the Public Relations Editor for the Ohio State Technology Law Journal. Kathryn also worked as an intern in the Technology Commercialization Office. Additionally, she was a student in the Entrepreneurial Business Law Clinic, where she provided legal assistance to startups and small businesses in need of intellectual property and transactional support.

Kathryn worked as a summer associate at the firm in 2023 and joined the firm in 2024.
