Luke D. Holbrook

Luke draws on his experience as an attorney, inventor, and engineer to deliver comprehensive representation for the firm’s clients.  At Knobbe Martens, Luke works in flexible roles that have led to client successes, including: a nine-figure acquisition option agreement, trademark enforcement for a celebrity, patent protection for an international software company, and software acquisition leading to over $1 million in monthly revenue.

In law school, Luke won first place for best contract in the Lorance Thompson Negotiation and Contract Drafting Competition and balanced legal curriculum with MBA coursework in technology strategy.  Prior to law school, Luke gained experience as an academic researcher and an embedded engineer.  Luke researched in the field of applied machine learning, resulting in published research, an international award, and patent pending technology.  Luke also worked for a leading research institute as an embedded engineer, where he developed software for an electronic warfare system that won a 2020 R&D 100 Award.

Luke’s colleagues describe him as: “enterprising, intelligent, and enthusiastic.  He fearlessly accepts challenging problems and works closely with stakeholders to maintain transparency and trust.  Luke’s work ethic is impressive, and he quickly learns and digests new, complex topics.  I would hire Luke without hesitancy.”
